Easter Ideas

CrossIt’s Holy Week and Easter Sunday, Resurrection Sunday, is fast approaching. Around here, this week is also Spring Break for many families and that adds a lot of other events, trips and distractions to the week of Easter.

While it takes a little extra time and effort, it is important for our families to prepare for Easter and think through the importance of this incredible event in light of our faith. I wanted to include just a few links and ideas for your family to use at home to get ready for the weekend.

One recommendation would be to read through the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ arrest & trials, his crucifixion and the resurrection. You can find those accounts here:

Matthew 26-28

Mark 14-16

Luke 22-24

John 18-20

Another activity idea for your family comes from the Gospel Centered Family blog. This would be fun activity to do with your kids.

What’s in the Bible also has some great videos, ideas and activities for Easter, including some history about Easter. Check them out here.

If you are worshiping with us this Easter at Hunter Street, check out the music for Sunday.

Christ should be the center for every Sunday throughout the year, but especially at Easter. However you choose to prepare and celebrate Easter this year, let’s do our best to point our families to Christ. His life, death and resurrection together form the turning point of all of history. It also has a radically impact on our future. Happy Easter!
